CSC Sponsoring Free Tax Help Starting in February

CSC will be sponsoring free Tax-Aide for qualified individuals starting on February 1st at various locations in Linn and Benton county. Those that qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) are especially encouraged to take advantage of free tax return preparation and e-filing.

EITC qualifications include:
  • U.S. Citizens or Legal Permanent Resident
  • Valid social security number
  • Earned income during 2012:
    • $45,060 ($50,270 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children
    • $41,952 ($47,162 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children
    • $36,920 ($42,130 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child
    • $13,980 ($19,190 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children
EITC amounts can range from $1 to $5,891.
